October is everyone’s favourite time to read scary books…for obvious reasons. I’m officially not a fan of Halloween (I’m genuinely confused by it), but that doesn’t mean I don’t like reading scary books. And, since everyone else’s favourite time read these books is October… I guess it’s mine too!
I’m planning on participating in 2 read-a-thons this month…and have picked out the manga that I’m going to read for them! Joining a readathon and picking titles that fit into certain challenges and categories are a fun way to organize your reading. Plus, isn’t it just a bit more fun to read as a group — even if you aren’t reading the same thing that everyone else is?
Have you ever participated in a readathon? There are so many going on in the Month of October, but let me recommend:
#spookathon (October 17-23):
This is a new readathon this year hosted by some lovely ladies on booktube (ie youtube book reviewers). There are 5 challenges and some give-aways too. Looks like a fun time!
#24hourreadathon (October 22):
Dewey’s 24 hour readathon is a biannual readathon where you just try and read as much as you can in a 24 hour period. It’s nearly impossible to stay awake for the full 24 hours, but the organizers do a good job at getting a lot of community involvement!
